Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 September 2026 · junglebnb.com
JungleBnB (junglebnb.com) is an independent curated directory of jungle stays: treehouses, bamboo houses, cabins, villas and rainforest lodges. We are not affiliated with Airbnb, Vrbo or any host. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we handle when you use this site, why, for how long, and what rights you have.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
The site is published by JungleBnB. For any privacy question or request, the contact email is hello@junglebnb.com. We answer within 30 days, and sooner for most requests.
2. What data we collect
Data you provide
The site has no user accounts, booking forms, comment boxes or contact forms. Clicking a listing takes you to Airbnb or to the host's own website, each of which has its own privacy policy. We receive no personal data back from those platforms. If you email us, we hold your email address and message only for as long as it takes to deal with it.
Data collected automatically
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address, browser type and request metadata to deliver pages and to block abuse. Cloudflare retains this in its own server logs under its own retention schedule; we do not export it, profile it or combine it with anything else.
Analytics, only with consent
We may use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read. Analytics runs only if you press Accept in the cookie banner; if you press Decline, or do nothing, no analytics script loads and no analytics cookie is set. Consent Mode is set to "denied" by default. Where analytics is active, IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage and reports are retained for 14 months.
3. Cookies and the consent mechanism
Two things are stored in your browser. Cloudflare may set essential security cookies needed to serve the site; these cannot be switched off. Your choice in the cookie banner is saved as a single value in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again; it contains no personal data and stays until you clear your browser storage. Non-essential cookies (analytics) are set only after you accept. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing site data in your browser, after which the banner returns.
4. How we use data and on what legal basis
We use automatically collected data solely to run the site securely (our legitimate interest in keeping the service available) and, with your consent, to measure readership. We do not sell, rent or share personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Processors and third parties
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, content delivery, security and the database behind our news pages.
- Google LLC: Google Analytics 4, only after consent, and Google Search Console for search performance, which shows us aggregate queries and never individual visitors.
- Airbnb, Vrbo and hosts' own booking sites: external links only. Once you leave junglebnb.com their policies apply. See Airbnb's Privacy Policy.
6. Retention
We keep no database of visitors. Cloudflare's server logs follow Cloudflare's retention policy. Analytics reports, where enabled, are kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically. Emails you send us are deleted once the matter is closed, and in any case within 12 months.
7. Your rights
European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR and UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to your national supervisory authority. Because we hold almost no personal data, most requests are answered by confirming that fact.
California (CCPA and CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and we do not discriminate against anyone who exercises these rights.
Brazil (LGPD)
Under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados, visitors in Brazil have the right to confirm whether we process their data, to access, correct, anonymise or delete it, to know who we share it with, and to revoke consent. Requests go to the contact email above and are handled on the same terms as GDPR requests.
Everyone else
Wherever you are, you can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it, and we will.
8. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and under 16 in the EEA, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. International transfers
Cloudflare and Google operate globally. Where data leaves the EEA or UK it is protected by those companies' standard contractual clauses and, for Google, its participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for 30 days.
11. Contact
Privacy questions, access requests and deletion requests: hello@junglebnb.com. Our Accessibility Statement and photo credits are published separately.
