Jungle Casitas with Shared Pool
A wooden cabin in the jungle on Isla Colón whose architecture borrows from the traditional Caribbean houses of the islands, hosted by the same owner for eleven years. The draw is the setting and the pool: howler monkeys and toucans come through the trees on a regular schedule, and after a hot day there is a swimming pool shared with the other casita. Living happens mostly outside, in an outdoor kitchen and dining area, on a large terrace with a barbecue, and under a private outdoor shower. There is a hammock and a swing chair for the monkey-watching. Sleeps two with one bed and one bath, and holds a 4.96 rating from more than 130 stays.
Reaching the casita and getting around Isla Colón
The casitas are on Isla Colón, about 3 km in a straight line from Bocas del Toro's airport (BOC). The host describes the area as quiet but close to Bocas town: about 15 minutes by bicycle, and taxis are easy to find. An ATV rental a short walk away, at Scully's beach bar, is the host's suggestion for the island's more remote corners.
Airbnb lists one bed and one bathroom, for two guests. There is a pool shared with the other casitas, an outdoor kitchen with a sink, a charcoal barbecue, a hammock and an outdoor shower. The amenity list includes a sea view and shared beach access. Wifi is measured at 13 Mbps, enough for messages and maps more than for long video calls.
