Jungle Paunch Cabins
A raised wooden cabin in the forest on Isla Colón's north shore, about six kilometres out of Bocas Town, built so that the deck sits up near the tree canopy and the wildlife. The host's line is that you fall asleep to the jungle and wake up to the waves, and the geography backs it up: the sea is a two-minute walk and the Paunch and Tiger Tails surf breaks are four. The cabins were built around the existing trees from locally sourced wood, with screened openings and roof skylights for watching birds from bed. There is an equipped kitchen, a private deck with a hammock, an outdoor rainwater shower and a covered barbecue area. Nine years of hosting and a 4.97 rating over more than 130 reviews. Sleeps two.
