Jungle House on Bluff Beach

A two-bedroom house built directly under the rainforest giants behind Playa Bluff, the long lonely beach on the north of Isla Colón, with the sand about two hundred metres away. The bathroom is the memorable part: an open-air rainwater shower with hot water under a large tree, and a wooden bathtub to go with it. The host lists howler monkeys, sloths and tropical frogs as regulars, and an opossum that lives in one of the trees by the terrace. Air conditioning was added recently for the bedrooms. Sleeps five across three beds, which makes it the family option on this stretch of coast. Seven years of hosting, 4.94 from more than fifty reviews. Bluff is a turtle-nesting beach and has strong surf, so it is for walking and watching rather than casual swimming.
