Pondside Bungalow at Sacha Urco Lodge

A tiny bungalow beside a pond at Sacha Urco Lodge, on 130 hectares of preserved cloud forest outside Mindo. The design is the unusual part: the host built it from materials collected in the forest and laid it out on Fibonacci proportions, which sounds precious until you sit on the deck and hear the birds. Reviews mention the birdsong before anything else. It sleeps two in one bed, has a kitchenette for simple cooking, Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace, so it doubles as a remote-work hideout.
